Changi Airport is currently operating with two runways, i.e. Runway 1 and Runway 2.  In an effort to accommodate the increasing air traffic demand, Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd, the operator of Changi Airport, is extending and developing its existing runway (Runway 3) located in the eastern side of Runway 2 for civil aviation use. Runway 3 will be connected to the existing Runway 2 by a network of taxiways.

Samsung C&T Corporation (“SSCT”) and Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor (Pte) Ltd (“KBCE”) have jointly and successfully bid for the award of the tender. The project commenced in November 2015 and is scheduled to complete in July 2019.
